These terms, translated from English, refer to two key actors in each buying and selling transaction: The Market Maker is the "creator" of pending orders in our market. These orders are set with preset values and will be activated when certain conditions are met. On the other hand, the Market Taker is the one who will execute these orders by accepting the conditions established by the Market Maker.
People adopt one of these two roles in the market, that of the creator or that of the taker.
When you buy or sell through Market, you are taking existing market orders so you are performing a Market Taker.
When you choose to make a purchase or sale through our Market, you are a Market Taker, since you are taking existing market orders. If, on the other hand, you create a buy order, it could be partially executed instantly, you become a Taker for that part of the order. The remaining part that is still waiting to be executed will be considered Maker.
It is important to highlight the differences in fees between Market Maker and Market Taker. Initially, everyone has a standard 0.09% fee for both purchases and sales, regardless of the role they take on.
However, these rates may vary depending on the volume traded in the last 30 days. Rate recalculation occurs every hour, giving you the opportunity to move up or down based on your recent trades.
To keep a clear track of your trades and know if you acted as a Maker or Taker, you can access the Reports section in our Exchange Pro. To do this, you must go to "Spot" and then "My Trades" to check the details of your transactions.
